Suburban Life Is Best In
Grand Manor Homes
Wychwood, often called Wychwood Manor, is one of Westfield's most prestigious sections. Developed in the 1920s, it features magnificent estate homes, though smaller Colonial-style homes are also available.
Many people move to the New Jersey suburbs to access exceptional schools. Wychwood is served by one of the top high schools in the state, Westfield High School, which earned a #8 ranking from New Jersey Monthly in 2016.

The Sip House
Westfield is so desirable that an architect moved a 17th-century home all the way from Jersey City. New Jersey's famous Sip House, now located at 5 Cherry Lane, was built in 1666 in what is now Jersey City. When urban development threatened to obliterate this historic landmark, the house was eventually disassembled, moved, and rebuilt in Wychwood in 1929. Today, it's a private residence that features many original components or reproductions in the home.
Echo Lake Park
Echo Lake and the park surrounding it, which are located in both Westfield and neighboring Mountainside, are popular destinations any time of year. In the summer, residents can enjoy paddle boating, picnicking, and outdoor concerts. In the winter, residents can enjoy ice skating and sledding down the large hill. Other amenities offered at Echo Lake Park include a soccer field, softball field, boat house, trails, playground, and a special area for concerts.
